Over the past 2.5 years, I have purchased six of these for my home. They are all working perfectly and I am constantly amazed how advanced they are. The only problems I have encountered has to do with the battery, but I believe battery problems are common for all phones. My former top-of-the-line 0 Panasonic phone system had battery problems too. One Uniden battery went dead after 1 yr of service and a 2nd battery (different handset) is only charging to half the normal capacity. I have a large two story house and the reception is excellent except at the extreme ends of the house where the handset is on a different floor from the base. I’m sure it has to do with the walls and floor construction because the reception is crystal clear in the garage and yard, both of which are a lot farther from the base.
The advanced feature set is incredible and still surpasses many phones I’ve researched. I manage all the phones from the included software utility from Uniden. My contact info downloaded from Outlook worked great and the phones work and share and communicate together perfectly. It’s a beautiful, durable phone and modern despite being 2-3 years old.
The Uniden TCX440 5.8 GHz expansion color LCD handset and charger for the CLX series is also compatible with the T8, ELT, and VoIP series. This handset has a full-color graphic matrix LCD. It has a USB connection for downloading ringers, pictures, and phonebook. It includes cordless customization software for PC-based setup. It has recordable ringer tones, a 100-name phonebook with 4 numbers per name, and a 100-No. Caller ID memory. There are distinctive ringer tones, animation, and picture display. It features handset and base speakerphone, handset-to-handset intercom and phonebook transfer. There are battery, clock, & banner displays. It is headset compatible and has a calendar with programmable reminders. It has the directLink⢠2-way radio feature. There are trilingual menus. It has 20 ring tone options. The belt clip is included. It has last 3 number redial, mute/hold function and voicemail waiting indicator.
Nice phone batteries are bad… – M. Goeckner – TX United States
The phone is very good – the batteries leave something to be desired. Also – this is VERY overpriced here. Look at Uniden. They sell it for a lot less.
Great addition – Mark C. Hamer – Batesville, In USA
This is an addition to the CLX475 system. Need a intercom/phone system that doesn’t cost an arm and a leg this one is it.
After 18 months of use – Stephen McHenry – Olney, MD USA
I threw my Panasonic system in the trash when after 4 years I tried to replace a handset only to find out it was no longer available. The Uniden systems have handsets that will work with current and older Uniden systems, so if I need a replacement handset 4 years from now they will have a handset that will work with my system. That is good customer service.
The 5.8 ghz does not interfere with our high speed wireless internet access, the phonebook memory is large, the individual handsets can be named to facilitate transferring and intercom use. The intercom feature between the handsets is very handy. The battery life is very good, the range works out into our yard, which is fine for me, and the phones look good. As to the computer link programing features, we have Mac computers which the Uniden system cannot com with, so I have no idea how much extra you get with the additional ring tones and photos. I am impressed with the system.
